alumni on-line community

Message from President Carey

Dear Transylvania alumni and friends:

As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, I want to thank each of you for all you do for our students and Transylvania. So much of campus life unfolds with such ease that it is easy to miss the constant attention needed to make this institution run smoothly.  Those of us attuned to the daily tasks of making the campus community thrive know that it requires tremendous effort and support from many people.

Every day I am reminded of the commitment so many of you make to Transylvania.  My work is made easier by the care you offer to make our university great and by the concern you show to keep it safe.  Every day our students grow and succeed because of your generosity. So simply, I say, thank you.

Again my best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving and a full and happy holiday season.  May you have, to paraphrase Emerson, clear morning light, health and food, love and friends, night’s rest and shelter that day and all your days.

Seamus Carey
