Next Friday, August 12, we will welcome to campus the Class of 2020. If you are in Lexington and happen to have an hour to spare between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day, we would love your help with the first-year student move-in. Please contact my colleague Heather Summers (email@example.com or 859-233-8738) for details if you'd like to participate in this Transy tradition.
Speaking of Transylvania traditions, we are beginning the planning effort for next year's Alumni Weekend and the 5-year class reunions. Save the dates, April 28-30, 2017. Our theme next year is Many Paths. One Pioneer Spirit. Read more about how you may get involved in planning your class reunion in the Alumni Programs section of this newsletter.
If you have news to share with our office and your fellow classmates, we are in the process of collecting class notes for the fall/winter issue of Transylvania's magazine Third & Broadway. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or submit a class note online by September 1.
Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Marty Smith to Transylvania as our Vice President for Advancement. His first day was Monday and we look forward to introducing him to our alumni and friends over the coming months.
Yours in Transy Spirit,
Natasa Pajic Mongiardo '96
Director of Alumni Relations

| Fiscal year 2016 Results -- THANK YOU!
Pioneers are all about breaking records, exceeding expectations and triumphing over challenges. Thanks to our many generous donors, Transy surpassed two important end-of-year challenges: the $75,000 Annual Fund matching grant and the $10,000 gift for young alumni participation (they exceeded their goal by 60%!). Our donors made it possible to secure every matching dollar and even broke the record for the most gifts received in one month—1,050! We are incredibly grateful for all of the support and love of Transy. We couldn’t accomplish such tremendous results without the dedication of our loyal supporters. THANK YOU!
The Class of 2016 had a successful Senior Challenge campaign. They decided to fund a pavilion in Back Circle in memory of their classmate, Katie Stewart. The Mary Katharine Stewart Pavilion will soon be underway thanks to the amazing support the Class of 2016 gave to this project. In total they were able to raise $21,109 from 46% of their class and 12 community members. Check the alumni Facebook page for updates. Again, thank you to all who supported this project!
