| Seeking stories from first-generation Pioneers
Did you know that 25 percent of our students are the first in their families to attend college? Isn’t that exciting?
We’re working to find new ways to support these Pioneers. At the beginning of Fall term, first-year, first-generation students were invited to a lunch and conversation with faculty members who were once in their shoes. Martha Billips '78, Barbara LoMonaco, Rebecca Fox, and Gary Deaton had powerful, moving, and funny stories to share.
As another way of supporting these Pioneers, we’d like to share some of your stories as first-generation students who have graduated and entered the world. We’d also like to illustrate the difference your Transylvania education made to you.
Would you be open to sharing your story? If so, please contact Natasa Mongiardo, director of alumni relations, at 859-233-8213 or email@example.com. Thank you!

| Reunion Giving
Over the next several weeks, you will be hearing from your reunion committee about the plans for Alumni Weekend including the class reunion gift. The committees set goals for the class gift (total dollars) as well as class participation. Your reunion class gift consists of the total of all gifts and pledges (including multi-year pledges payable over the next three years) received between now and Alumni Weekend.
As reunion approaches, ask yourself, “Where would I be today if I hadn’t attended Transylvania? How would my life be different?” While it is impossible to know the answer, one thing is certain: the education received is priceless, and we call upon it every day.
